below are some basics that may help you

Understanding card order is the most important thing to learn with Euchre, strategy you will develop in time...
There are 24 cards in Euchre 6 per suit and the order of play is Ace , King , Queen , Jack , 10 , 9 when those suits are not trump .. When a card is turned up and ordered up then things change, for instance lets say a heart is turned up by the dealer ... The Jack of hearts ( Right Bower )would now be the top card we would take the Jack of diamonds ( Left Bower ) from the diamond suit it will become the 2nd highest ( which now means there is 7 heart trump & 5 in the diamond ) . The black cards remain the same Ace through 9 .. so whatever color is called up those jacks are higher then the aces for that hand ........
You have to follow suit but you don't have to trump when you don't have that suit
Points system play is first team to 10 points wins
You have to follow suit , you don;t have to trump
you get 1 point for getting 3 of the 5 tricks 2 points for all 5 tricks and if you go alone and make 3 tricks its 1 point , all 5 tricks would be 4 points for the loner .... Getting Euchred or Euchring the other team its 2 points

YOU ARE PLAYING TO LOSE... THE GOAL IS TO GET EUCHRED EACH TIME YOU CALL.....


Rule 1 The best Seats are EAST WEST ..... SEATS .. West IS the best Seat,
being 1st after the dealer.....

Rule 2 NEVER pass ......

Rule 3 GO Alone...... Always
Exceptions.. If you have an absolute lay down... CALL but DON’T go alone.. IF you pass they will call it and you will get 2 points ANYWAY
The reason being.. Your P can pick up a trick and then its only 2 points or the OPS can pick up a trick and then its only 1 point.... 1 point is better than 2... and 2 points are better than 4 ..... we play Percentages

Rule 4 if your P is going to take a trick either take it from him with your HIGHEST card OR trump it with yr HIGHEST trump.....
Rule 5 If the OPS pass CALL and GO ALONE No matter what..... watch where the lead is....

Rule 6 When you are ORDERED up the best thing to do is discard your highest Trump But in some cases sometimes if you have say 9 or 10 of trump keep it and discard a different HIGH card.....

There are some very good reverse players .. each of us has a different way of Playing.... but these are the basic Strategies and like all good plans they sometimes fail...
